The Buckley Chamber of Commerce has a long history of promoting
individual businesses and building a successful business community. The size
of the Chamber has grown in years past from a few concerned
citizens to a strong group of members dedicated to bringing the business
area as well as the many home businesses into the local spotlight.
Our membership is maintained by a group of volunteers who have given an
untold number of hours putting together the many events that bring Buckley
into the public eye. The last full weekend in June, we work with the local
Log Show to sponsor the Log Show Parade and Vendors' Row. This
weekend draws hundreds of visitors into the area for a lengthy parade that
culminates with a long line of log trucks. Crafts, souvenirs and a variety
of food booths, along with the Log Show itself, make this a
weekend that is eagerly anticipated every year.
In 1997, a Tourist Information Center was opened to welcome visitors and
answer questions about Buckley and the surrounding area. We have had
visitors from as far away as Japan as well as some of the distant states of
our own country. Questions about Mt. Rainier activities are frequent,
but we also get the odd request for how to locate a relative or, in one
case, how to set the time on their clock. Contact the City of Buckley
for location time and hours. 360-829-1921

The Chamber also sponsors a Country Market with crafters and local produce
and even a slice of homemade berry pie! The Chamber has been busy selling
memorial bricks to place around the entrance of the Gazebo in Thunderbird
Park. Such sentiments as remembering a loved one, a business or a local
family as well as a favored pet have been cast in brick and even some whimsy
that most viewers may wonder about but never understand.
Join us in Buckley. We meet the second Wednesday of every month at
8 a.m. at the Hometown Restaurant on Main Street. The Chamber Office is located at
121 N. Cottage Street inside Movies Plus. The Visitor Center is run
by the City of Buckley. Please contact them for more information.
